What You Can Do with an ETA
With an ETA, you can visit Australia for:
Tourism — explore, sightsee, or visit family and friends
Business — attend meetings, trade fairs, or conferences (without paid work)
Short study — participate in training courses or study for up to 3 months
Restrictions
You cannot work or be paid for any activity. You cannot live permanently in Australia. You cannot access medical services or benefits.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for an ETA, you must meet the following requirements:
Hold a passport from an eligible country
You must be a passport holder from one of the countries listed below.
Be outside Australia when applying
You cannot be in Australia when submitting your application.
Be a genuine visitor
For tourism or short business purposes only.
Have no criminal record
No criminal record or unpaid government debts.
Be in good health
Meet health requirements set by Australian immigration.
